Our own "HOT DAM" kicks off the season at IW with an evening of celebration as we honor our Veterans with free admission! All others $10! Sue Benyo will offer free raffle tickets to each veteran for wonderful items she has made and donated for Veterans only!  There will be a 50/50 raffle! BYOB, hors de vours if you like! There will be no reserved seats/table for this event.

 

 

 

The Holiday Craft Fair kicks off the season with a delicious breakfast by Cathy & Crew! Support our local artisans by taking advantage of this opportunity to "shop local"! You'll be amazed at the talent we have in this community! There's a raffle and a bake sale too, with all proceeds graciously donated to the Activities Committee!

We always learn something new when our Community Representative shows up with a demo and the offer to hear your Bluestream concerns. This demo happens immediatley following the Activities Meeting. If you have Bluestream service concerns, please put them in writing with details including your name, address, email and cell number!

The old True freezer will be removed and the new True Freezer will be set up on Tuesday, December 5 between 8AM and 11AM. There should not be any disruption of activities in the clubhouse; this is just an FYI in the event you notice activity in and around the clubhouse.

Another new and innovative "Blue Plate Special" special along with a new event leader. Join Diana and crew for homemade turkey pot pies! Yummy! $7 PP including iced tea and lemonade!

 

The Billiards Room, Library, Multi-Purpose Room and the walking pattern in the Fitness Center will be cleaned today by Chem Dry. There is a two hour dry time so we thank all clubhouse users for honoring the "Closed "signs until the carpets aree dry. We estimate that o be around 2 PM! YOur Activities Committee thanks you!

Don Dewey is leading a volunteer team to clean the pool/patio furniture including chairs and tables. Show up with your scrub buckets, brushes etc to make our pool area sparkle! A sign up sheet is on the multi-purpose room!

The New Horizon's Band is a lovely addition annually to our Holiday Celebrations in "The Wilderness"! Director Ken Karper and the musicians that comprise this community band had its' humble beginnings here at IW 20+ years ago under the direction of the Ernst Brothers! Now comprising 60+ members, the NHB returns to IW with their annual Christmas concert. They provide the "Tweets" and we provide the "Sweets" with a cake reception following the concert. Former members of the concert band return to greet their IW friends. It's a "feel good" evening! We pass the hat as always to assist the band with their expenses. See you there!

The IW Jammers are hitting the pool deck but they need you and your musical instruments! Percussion, brass, a kazoo, spoons...bring whatever you've got! Join Cliff and newcomer John for a fun happy hour on the pool deck. In addition to your musical instruments, BYOB, a snack to share if you like, dancing shoes or your pool noodle! See you there!

The Christmas Brunch is another favorite holiday tradition in "The Wilderness"! You are invited to dine at your leisure, visiting five food stations that are sure to delight, including a "Jingle Juice" Bar, the amazing Hot Spinach Bacon Salad Bar, the Hot Buffet featuring twice smoked ham and many lovely holiday side dishes; an Omelet Station and a wonderful Dessert Station. This is the best brunch value in SW Florida. Don't miss out. As always, your holiday guests are welcome to join you for this event. Serving is a leisurely 11 AM- 1 PM! A festive Photo booth is also set up, so bring your smartphone or tablet and we'll take your holiday photo! Who knows which elves will show up with Santa to add to the fun! Our Christmas Lighting Contest judges include the 1st place winner from 2022, a new owner and a renter! Turn all of your Christmas/Holiday lights on from 6-8 P.M.! Event leaders Sue S. and Donna T. will be announcing award prizes at Monday meetings. Don't miss out!

 

 

This is a very fun event filled with good holiday cheer! Elf stops, Christmas caroling and awards for best decorated carts make this a much anticipated event. Awards follow at the Ice Cream Social in the Clubhouse! Sometimes karaoke rounds out the evening! Let's welcome Sheila G. as the new event leader. Plan your cart decorations and your Elf Stops. You have to see it to believe it! Who has more fun than us?

The Ice Cream Social happens most Sundays at 7 PM! There are some new twists this season! Will Root Beer Floats be on the menu? How about ice cream cones? Ice cream Sundaes for sure! See you there! This is a fun way to end the weekend! Lots of flavors and....we offer toppings and sprinkles!

There will be a rehearsal for the Christmas Eve program on Monday December 18th 3:00 PM at the Clubhouse.
This rehearsal is for all participants in the Live Nativity, Readers, Singers and Special Guest.

As with all entertainment events in the clubhouse, the main room, fitness center, library and multi-purpose room is closed to accomodate the duo of Mark Anthony & Kristina Lynn. Some of his many credits include, being a featured artist on the television show "Spirit of America" a Christian variety show, as well as the highly acclaimed Denny Yeary Family Show at the Gene Wiliams Theatre in Branson, Mo. Will was also a featured singer with the Como Family Christmas show. Will's exciting stage presence, combined with his ability to engage the audience, always results in a great time whenever he performs.
