Thanks to the Ladies Golf League, this "Blue Plate Special" is sure  to be tasty! This is our first "special of the season and will surely be worth standing in line for! Really! Burgers and dogs are also available along with condiments, iced tea, lemonade and dessert! $7 Special, $5 Hamburger/Cheeseburger plate & $4 Hot Dog Plate. Beverage, chips and condiments included!

Doors Open at 6:30. Games start at 7 PM. Intermission ice cream is available. You must be 18 to play. Residents and renters are welcome. Visitors must be overnight guests in IWCA. Bingo is a much anticipated weekly activity at IW! Arrive early with the other early birds! There are great prize winnings and lots of fun to be had!

Steve Joy has partnered up with his group of golf guys and planned a fun evening of country music during happy hour on the pool deck followed by a wonderful catered dinner from Texas Tony's! Steve thought the "Wilderness Cooks" needed a night off! Woot Woot!

 

4 PM First Friday on the Pool Deck with Dolph & Cliff offering up happy hour music! This is a "pass the hat event" ! A little toe tapping, singing and swing, anyone?

 

5:30 PM Dinner includes a three-meat meal! BBQ brisket, chicken and ribs & two sides including potato salad and beans plus homemade cornbread rounds out this Texas-sized meal!  Ticket price $20 PP/Open Seating. 2 for 1 Texas Tony's Margarita Mix w/your tequila! $2. Ticket sales continue on Monday, January 23 & Wednesday, January 25 or until sold out!

The first February breakfast promises to be a delicious start to the weekend. Pancakes are on the menu along with scrambled eggs, hash browns, juice and coffee!

If you've never been to a Chicken Shoot, just GO! It's five bucks to cluck! 39 lucky winners! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! Bring snacks! BYOB! There's rumors of side bets to add to the fun! This event truly is indescribable! You'll have a blast and you may even have to do the "Chicken Dance with Joyce (our resident "best sport" chicken) and her brood! The Colonel shows up occasionally! Practice your own "cluck"....just to be....you know....ready! This is a fun and simple game! Come one, come all! There's also a 50/50 raffle to add to the fun!

This is a very welcoming and convenient place to worship fromJanuary-March. The Church of the WIlnerness is self funded. Ther's even a choir! Join in!

Sunday Ice Cream Socials are a favorite event in "The Wilderness"! Come see who's scooping and bring your own spoon and bowl (sustainability)! Michelle La Valley coordinates scoopers each week. See her if you'd like your group, friends or neighbors to volunteer! Ice cream scoopers have the most fun! "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream"! Best bargain in all of Naples!

Volunteers often have sweet treats to offer each week! You'll find out about new owners and renters as they introduce themselves. Activity leaders update their activities and invite new participants to join in! Tickets are often on sale for all ticketed events following the meeting! It's a wonderful way to "be in the know", offer to volunteer and engage in the community-bulding we are noted for! See you there?

 

On this Monday, there will be introductions of our new manager and assistant manager (they've been invited)! We will have an unveiling that you won't want to miss! You'll hear from Activities Committee members on why they are running for re-election to serve our community in planning and executing elections. New 2023-34 Event Reservation forms will be passed  out and we will celebrate our successes of the past week! Tickets will be for sale for Alex Herron (Tuesday 6-9 $10), Super Bowl Watch Party Sunday $7 Chili and Baked Potato Bar), and Valentine's Day Dance with Cahluha & Cream 2/14 $20). Each candidate intends to run for the Activities Committee for an additional 1-2 year term. Should any owner choose to run for the Activities Committee, those individuals should notify Elections Committee Chairperson Nancy Harris and/or BOD Liaison Randy Caldwell of their intent to run for the committee; be present within the community from mid-November through March of each year and be ready to assume responsibility for any one of the positions currently held by existing AC members should they be elected.

 

Candidates will introduce themselves at this Activities Meeting and state their interest in serving on the Activities Committee.

 

All owners and renters are eligible and encouraged to vote at the February 13 Activities Meeting.  

Alex is a favorite of our residents when they venture out on the town! Norma even sings with Alex! He is a featured country western entertainer at regional American Legions, honoring our veterans! The Activities Committee has heard you loud and clear when you asked for a DJ, so we are bringing you Alex Herron! Tickets $10/Open Seating. Ticket Sale Dates: Monday, January 30: Wednesday, February 1: Saturday, February 4 & Monday, February 6. 

 

This is the final craft show of the season! Hmmmm.....what have our artisans come up with this time around. The raffle and bake sale are also great ways to engage. Come early for shopping, stay for lunch! This is the first lunch by Matt the Lunch Guy and YES! He promised to use the Betty Blakeman's (The Louisville Slugger) famous southern homemade special recipes with just a little splash of color on the plate! 

 

Craft Show opens at 10 AM. Lunch is served from 12-1 PM! Don't forget to donate your baked items to the bake sale or make apurchase! Bring a few bucks for the raffle items! All proceeds are donated to the Activity Committee for reinvestment back into your community!

Pop-Up fun in the Wilderness!

The Pickleball Players are taking a morning off to prepare breakfast for their friends and neighbors. C'mon down to the clubhouse for breakfast and see what they are whipping up! It's sure to be good! 8:30-9:30 $7 PP at the door! Come one, come all!

The Clubhouse is SPORTS ZONE CENTRAL for this fun event. Barbie Caldwell & Crew promise to bring a fun and festive celebration of all things Super Bowl including favorite football fare! Chicken Chili, Beef Chili with toppings and a Baked Potato Bar round out this "All You Can Eat" menu. Tickets are $7 PP/Open Seating. Ticket Sale Dates: Monday, January 30, Wednesday, February 1, Saturday, February 4th at breakfast, Monday, February 6 after the Activities Meeting; Wednesday, February 8 at 10 AM (after the Activities Committee Meetings) and Saturday Breakfast-February 11 (8:30-9:30 AM). 

 

Fatboys (ice Cream Sandwiches) will be sold for dessert at 7 PM for $1.

Norma & Bill invite all performers to audition for the upcoming variety show scheduled for Sunday, March 13, 2023. All interested performers are welcome to audition!

These performers are IW favorites! Don and Lesly comprise Cahlua & Cream and are voted the best in entertainment in "Gulf Shore Life" magazine's poll two years consecutively.  Their repertoire includes a broad spectrum of music ranging from Broadway, jazz and contemporary to original selections.   BYOB and snacks and dance the night away! Beautiful decorations and great music make for a wonderful celebration of love!

Jo Holm reminds residents that this is the only day of the year that residents may put items out curbside to sell or give away! Open to the public, the IW gates are open to guests and yard sale shoppers! After breakfast, visit every IW neighborhood and check out one another's treasures! You may just find a piece of furniture to complement your home, tools (who can ever have enough) or that special apparel item you can't live without! This annual event is a blast!

"The Suggestion Box" in the Clubhouse yielded a request for a movie night! The Activities Committee heard you, however, most importantly a volunteer stepped up to organize the event! It's simple! A great movie! BYOB and popcorn and sit back and enjoy "The Greatest Showman" with Barbie Caldwell as your projectionist! If you want a comfortable "Bag Chair", bring your own! This is a free event for all! Enjoy! If we get a good turnout, the Activities Committee may make this regular entertainment feature when we can fit it in! Better yet, suggest a movie you would like to enjoy!

IW is home to world class quilters! Come to the Clubhouse and admire their astounding work, from wall hangings to hand-pieced and machine quilted quilts. These quilters are busy every Tuesday and Friday during the season! Don't miss this event! It only happens every two years!

Folks using the clubhouse for exercise, poker and bingo are urged to be careful of the runway stage set up in the clubhouse on Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Thank you for your consideration of set-up time on Thursday, rehearsal time on Friday and the Thrift with a Twist Fashion Show on Saturday

Models will be practicing their runway strut. Thank you for refraining from using the clubhouse during this time.

The "almost" annual fashion show is a crowd favorite! Some of our favorite men serve as waiters! Models will be chosen from the community! Attire will include upcycled thrift purchases-some from the Thrift with a Twist Bus Tour in January, hence "Thrift With A Twist"! Along with a fabulous lunch, this will be the hottest luncheon ticket on the East Trail! All attendees will receive the "Shopportunitues Guide" to resale shopping in SW Florida-a highly sought after reference guide to sales, discounts and everything resale swag! Gift baskets, raffles, give-aways from our bus tour hostess Virginia! Wear your resale swag, too!

Dale's funeral will be held at St. Finnbar Catholic Church at 11:30 AM Internment is at 1:45 PM at Palm Royale Cemetery.

 

Dale's Family will greet friends at a memorial reception in our Clubhouse from 4-7 pm. This is open to Dale's many friends in Imperial Wilderness. For sure BYOB. If you want to honor Dale during a toast with his drink of choice, bring a vodka tonic and two limes! THAT was Dale's Happy Hour with his friends! It's tradition!
