There are four AED's on the premises. Come learn where they are located and learn easy, safe steps in how to use an AED. Your preparedness could save a life! You will also learn stroke awareness signs and symptoms. Donna, Chris and Art will lead the training for residents. This could be the most important hour of your life! Free to all!

Deb P. has teamed up with new resident Bruno Shawl (AKA Bruno the Crooner) to bring you a Friday afternoon pop-up concert on the pool patio! Bring a chair, your own beverage and snacks and get ready to tap your toes, dance or just take in the music during this happy hour. This is a crowd favorite! See you there. Bring some "jingle" as we pass the hat!

If you've never been to a Chicken Shoot, just GO! It's five bucks to cluck! 39 lucky winners! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! Bring snacks! BYOB! There's rumors of side bets to add to the fun! This event truly is indescribable! You'll have a blast and you may even have to do the "Chicken Dance with Joyce", our resident "best sport" chicken! The Colonel even shows up occasionally! You might even practice your own "cluck"....just to be....you know....ready!

This is a very welcoming and convenient place to worship fromJanuary-March. The Church of the WIlnerness is self funded. Ther's even a choir! Join in!

This time honored tradition allows us to gather and celebrate the lives of our friends and family that passed away during the year. Photos, song, memories and shared stories make for a poignant evening for our Wilderness Family. Family members are also often present. Doors open at 5 PM. Program begins at 6 PM.

Longtime IW resident Sally Karaffa was a dynamo in "the Wilderness"! If you did good, she let you know! If you messed up, she also let you know! Join Sally's family during this celebration of her long life. Memorial and cake reception to follow.

We’ve also just added a new Happy Hour on the Pool Deck with none other than Steven Solkela! He bills himself as an “Overpopulated One Man Band” and as a Musical Comedian. Joyce H. & her Committee are continuing the beloved tradition of the Ladies High Tea in 2023. Combined with an orchid presentation, you'll enjoy new trends in teas, a delicious luncheon and treasured memories from former resident and teapot collector Jamie Jeffors. Bring your own teacup and story! This will be a sold-out event!

Quilt Raffle tickets will also be for sale! 6 tickets for $20 for Joyce Novak's donated  Award-winning quilt! 2nd Place in the renowned Naples Quilt Show in 2022! Cash drawings also include (5) $100 bills and (10) $50 bills! All proceeds are reinvested by the Activities Committee in your community!

 

Drawings take place at the Last Hurrah on Wednesday, March 29. Music by Hot Dam...a "once in A Lifetime" event honoring Joyce Novack and the Imperial Wilderness Quilters!

 

 

Karen and Jack will teach the Country Two Step on Saturday afternoons from 3:30-5 pm this season, giving all the opportunity to learn the country two step! (Have you seen them glide around the floor at our IW dances? They make it look so easy)! ! We start on Saturday, March 18 and continue on March 25th giving dancers a taste of two steppin'!

 

This fun and popular event will continue on Saturdays in 2024 beginning January 6 and continuing through Saturday, March 30

Melanie Trudel & and Bluestream Technician will be our guests following the Activities Meeting on Monday, March 20th. Pickleball is all the rage-the fastest growing sport in the world. IW sports all levels of players in M-W-F round-robin play! All are welcome! Everyone started out as a beginner and found encouragement from their friends! Enter Toz, Shauna, Dave & Karen! Due to popular demand, they are offering a second pickleball clinic in March! Purse Bingo is a hit in "The Wilderness"! We have some very talented people at IW that are making bags! We look for the best bargains, latest styes and we provide plenty of opportunities to yell "BINGO" to win a purse! You will also have opportunities to bid and win on bags, wallets, totes, satchels, cross bodies, backpacks, beach bags in the silent auction and the raffle! We even have generous residents that donate bags to add to the fun! There's always a new twist to the event! Heads & Tails anyone? More details at the Monday Activities Meeting! Men and women are encouraged to attend! Double your chances to win! Don't like your prize? Sue Mannes, Chief Auctioneer, will auction off your bag and you keep the money at the end of a perfect, fast paced evening of fun and fund raising!

World Class Quilter and long-time IWCA resident Joyce Novak has donated an exquisite quilt to the Activities Committee and her beloved IW community for a fundraising event. Joyce's quilt won second place in the 2022 Naples Quilt Show-a wonderful honor in recognition of her skill. Raffles for this quilt will be sold at various events within IW throughout the 2022-23 season with the grand finale drawing taking place at the conclusion of "The Last Hurrah"!. Raffle tickets are $5 or 6 tickets for $20! This quilt will be displayed at most IWCA events throughout the season! This truly is a "once in a life time event"!

 

Our IW Quilters will also be honored for their exquisite skills in creating heirloom quilts, hosting the quilt show and their collective  generosity to the greater IW community!

 

Entertainment is provided by our very own Hot Dam! BYOB and Snacks to this Happy Hour event! Tickets $5.

 

 

The Memorial Committee is hosting lunch on Wednesday, 3/29 from 12 Noon - 1:00 PM! They are raising money to finish the walkway and landscaping to our beautiful Memorial Garden adjacent to our clubhouse. The total project cost is $3,000 with donated pavers. The committee, chaired by Nancy Harris, will have a landscape drawing so you can see what the project looks like. They will have a donation table in the lobby! This project, since inception, has been a wonderful and loving memorial to all that have been part of the Imperial Wilderness Family. The Committee has worked tirelessly (on a shoestring budget) to create this beautiful Memorial Garden. Let's all pitch in and help complete the project.

 

The Activities Committee is partnering on this luncheon by providing food and paper goods in honor of all those who have passed on that helped to create the lifestyle and amenities that we all enjoy today.

 

Lunch includes hamburgers ($5), hot dogs ($4), condiments, chips and a beverage. Dessert-a lovely homemade cake by Michelle LaValley is $2. There just may be a blue-plae special offered! See you there!
